Your Wedding Day: Why Drive When You Can Fly?

Posted on

Traveling from the place where you married your spouse to the venue hosting your wedding reception is a pretty big deal. After all, it's literally your first trip as a married couple! Many couples put some thought into arranging transportation that reflects the significance of that journey, whether it's a horse and carriage, a vintage car, or a limo. But why limit yourself to the ground?

As Memorable As Possible

A helicopter charter is a great way for you and your new spouse to travel from your wedding to your reception. Since this is one of the most important days of your life, your mode of transportation should be as memorable as possible.

A Short Tour

The actual distance from the wedding venue to the reception venue probably won't be that significant, and so you should look for a provider who offers a sightseeing helicopter charter. You can lift off and take a short flight around the countryside or city, taking in a panoramic view that adds an extra hint of magic to a day that's already pretty magical. Think of it as a victory lap after winning the heart of the person you love.

Timing Issues

A short sightseeing tour as part of your journey to your wedding reception can also assist with timing issues. If you were to fly straight from one venue to another, you and your new spouse might be waiting a while for your guests to make the same journey by road. By spending a bit of time in the air, your guests will have begun to arrive by the time you touch down (and be sure your wedding photographer is standing by), so your wedding reception can get underway.

Accommodating the Aircraft

Before you go ahead and book a helicopter charter for your wedding day, you need to be sure that both venues are able to safely accommodate the aircraft. Although a helicopter's takeoff and landing are vertical, there needs to be sufficient space at both venues for this to safely take place. The helicopter charter company can provide you with the minimum requirements for their aircraft, and you can simply cross-reference these with your chosen venues. The helicopter charter company can then work out the finer details with the venues.

A Backup Plan

One major detail that can't be overlooked is what happens if the aircraft is unable to safely fly on the day in question. This is a possibility due to weather conditions, whether the conditions make flight unsafe or visibility is compromised. Ask the charter company if they provide a backup option. If the helicopter can't fly on the day, you wouldn't want to have to call a taxi, so be sure to arrange an alternative form of transportation (such as a limo) in the unlikely event that the helicopter is grounded on the day.

For your first journey as a married couple, why take the road when you can take to the skies?
